Noosa is an absolute delight in Spring. There’s just enough heat in the air to warm your cold winter bones, the breeze is gentle and the water is crystal clear. For some of our guests, simply staring out over the water from Noosa Pacific’s beach or jetty is blissful enough. But for those looking to gain a different perspective of Noosa, actually hopping onto a waterborne craft is the only way to go. Fortunately, we are superbly situated for making getting out on the water easy and hassle free, with now being the perfect time to enjoy the Noosa River and Laguna Bay.
Very little organisation is required for a trip on the Noosa Ferry, which has a number of services throughout the day with several stops between the Tewantin Marina and Hastings St, including the jetties at The Boathouse Restaurant and Ricky’s. Finish a stunning meal with a ride up and down the river, or for the self-caterers (and those who love a sundowner) the sunset cruise is an excellent way to sip your favourite drink and nibble on snacks while the sun goes down and the world slides by.
Noosa River And Canal Cruises is another easy option for getting out on the water. The Captains on these lovely pink river cruisers give interesting insights into the history of the river, the structures that line its banks and the wildlife inhabiting it. This is another great self-catering option over sunset or lunch, though if grabbing a bite to eat and your tipple of choice from one of the cafes lining Gympie Terrace seems a little hard, you can also pre-order lunch via their website. Best of all Noosa River and Canal Cruises will pick up Noosa Pacific guests from our very own jetty!
Captaining your very own vessel is also available, with a number of hire places providing almost anything, from small tinnies to large BBQ pontoons. You don’t need a boat license; just a sense of adventure. The BBQ pontoons are excellent for groups, come with a BBQ and esky: all you need to do is provide the food and drink. Pull up on a sand bar in the middle of the river and watch the boats cruise by as you tuck into lunch, wet a line or have a swim.
If a slow cruise sounds about as exciting as watching wet paint dry, hiring a jetski and carving up some water might be more at your break-neck speed. There are a number of hire companies along Gympie Terrace who can situate you on a jetski, with the river the perfect place to introduce younger family members to the idea of driving these powerful machines on water. Noosa Jetski Hire also conduct Ocean Tours designed to get your heart racing as you pound through the waves, whilst providing yet another view of the iconic Noosa Heads from the waters of Laguna Bay. This is not for the faint-hearted!
Whichever speed you choose, the Noosa River is waiting for you at Noosa Pacific.
