For those families holidaying this Spring at Noosa Pacific, we’re keen to bump the school holidays up the list, complementing our already exceptional onsite facilities and activities with a few child-friendly days out too.
For those with very young children, one of the best excursions off the Noosa River is one of the Pick Your Own (PYO) Strawberry Farms on the coast. There are a few to choose from, with McMartins Strawberry Farm and Strawberry Lane Ice Creamery the closest. Located in Bli Blip and open every day during the school holidays from 8:30am to 4:30pm, children are encouraged to wander through the lanes of strawberry plants, picking their very own strawberries, with their haul weighed and paid for at the end. There’s also a café on site selling delicious strawberry sundaes with award winning strawberry ice cream, coffee and light meals, perfect for Mum and Dad to take a rest while the kids explore the playground.
Remaining on the fruit theme, the iconic Big Pineapple in Woombye delivers for families regardless of age. For those with children over the age of 8 who require a little more wearing out than the odd bit of strawberry picking, the Tree Top Challenge is a must for both kids and parents. Featuring several high ropes courses in increasing difficulty, with ziplines and flying foxes suspended within lush rainforest, this is sure to get the adrenaline racing! A little too exciting? There’s the more sedate Heritage Listed train ride through The Big Pineapple grounds, exploring the rainforest, orchids, bamboo forest and passing the neighbouring zoo animals. Hop off and have a look through Wildlife HQ at Koala Station and get an up-close-and-personal photo encounter with some of your favourite animals. This can include monkeys, meerkats and red pandas. You can even cuddle a koala or a boa constrictor! Perhaps best of all, there’s also something for Mum and Dad at The Big Pineapple, where a range of locally produced foods, fruits and vegetables are sold, including the team from Diablo, who specialise in alcoholic ginger beer as well as flavoured liqueurs and vodkas. You might need it after the Tree Top Challenge!
A little closer to your Noosa Pacific home is an incredibly special experience for those families with children aged 10 years and older: Noosa Horse Riding. This is a local, family owned business offering safe and guided horse-riding tours around the stunning Weyba Lake or beaches of Noosa’s North Shore. This is an exceptional way to see a little more of Noosa, whilst having fun in the great outdoors. Best of all, Noosa Horse Riding offer a pick up service from Noosa Pacific.
There is an enormous array of child-friendly activities in and around Noosa these Spring holidays. Can’t decide? Just pop in and ask our friendly reception team about their favourite family outings!
