The rainbow lorikeets are chirping sweetly, the palm fronds are swaying and the days are long and languid: it’s the perfect time to relax with your loved one, spoil each other or perhaps even pop the question. Situated as we are on one of Australia’s most pristine rivers, we are spectacularly placed for romantic days spent grazing and gazing over long lunches and candlelit dinners, all within a gentle float along the river.
For those who love a long lunch, why not hop on the Noosa Ferry on Gympie Terrace and head downriver to Hastings St. There are any number of high-end eateries to try, with Seasons Restaurant a beautiful, relaxed yet upmarket beachside restaurant built for long lunches staring over the ocean. If you’d like to up your romance game, try for an outdoor table at Sails where you can watch the sun go down over the beach whilst indulging in excellent mod-Australian cuisine: just be sure to book well in advance.
If walking’s not really your thing, order a Noosa Water Taxi for a much more intimate way of getting around the river from Noosa Pacific Resort’s very on jetty. Head upriver to the Noosa Boathouse, a favourite with locals. Relax into lunch over the water, or step upstairs to the Sunset Bar for what is arguably Noosa’s best place to watch the sun go down (apart from your Noosa Pacific balcony, that is!) Even further upriver is the Tewantin Marina, where a number of cafes, restaurants and boutiques make for an indulgent day of shopping and dining by the water.
Intent on really spoiling your Valentine? Thinking of popping the question? Noosa Dreamboats guarantees delivery of the ‘wow’ factor. These beautiful and stylish mahogany runabouts, handcrafted in the classic style of the 1940’s American powerboats, are individually skippered and feature a cosy couch seat at the back. With a range of private tours and dining options available including one featuring a favourite of the Noosa Pacific team, the high-end Rickys River Bar and Restaurant, the romance is certain to live on all the way through the year, not just February!
