If you’ve been out watching whales, throwing a line in or just had a walk along Gympie Terrace: it’s official! You’ve got enough salt in your hair and sea air in your lungs to warrant a tipple at the Noosa Yacht Club. The best part? It’s just far enough away (2.4kms) to walk and feel like you really do deserve that extra beverage, chips or dessert. The Noosa Yacht Club is a treasured local secret and a favourite of the Noosa Pacific staff.
Located at the upriver end of Gympie Terrace, the Noosa Yacht Club can be accessed by flat walking paths along the Noosa River from Noosa Pacific (it’s a great ride for the kids too). This double storeyed building has expansive views of the river, a fantastic deck and represents an unpretentious place to look out over the boats, paddles boards and birds as they glide by.
The menu is bistro style. Steak sandwich lover? They’ve got you covered. Seafood connoisseur? Tick. Vegetarian and perhaps even dabbling in vegan? There are plenty of options! The Noosa Yacht Club also has a wide selection of local beers as well as international. Most comforting for parents, there is a children’s menu and an excellent (and large!) playground directly across the road. Tire those little legs out before playing a game of Eye-Spy on the deck as you sip on your beverage of choice. Here on a Sunday? There’s live music from 2pm.
The Noosa Yacht Club is a wonderful spot for lunch and an even better place to watch the colours change on the river over sunset as the lorikeets come home to roost along Gympie Terrace.
